Rabicano has a deep, black-fruited, juicy core, rich tannins and a lasting finish. The inaugural release of our prized Apple Block handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is a composite of loam and cobble formed over millenniums of flooding of Dry Creek. The low-yield vineyard produced 1-1/2 tons to the acre of tiny berries with deeply concentrated fruit of elegant structure. The cooler climate of Oak Knoll allows long hang time for optimal ripening. The result is exquisite.

Exclusively from our winemaker's favorite lots of our estate Mount Veeder vineyards, this wine displays balance and elegance with ample strength and structure to age, revealing the mountain's distinct personality. This is a darkly colored wine with cedar and sandalwood aromas accompanied by brown sugar and maple. There is a signature of Mount Veeder's spicy high note followed by red currant, cherry and raspberry. In the mouth there is a full, powerful entry and a mid palate with blueberry flavors. The tannins are ripe and extend through the finish.

In our first vintage of Cabernet Franc, winemaker Kevin Mills has carefully chosen the best fruit from Stan Boyd's Oak Knoll Vineyard. This lesser-known varietal comes from a classic vintage and is a thick-skinned grape that adds layers of earth and floral notes. This wine is a rich dark color that has deep fruit forward notes integrated with hints of vanilla and blooming lavender. Remember a wise tip from our winemaker: "If you don't do it right the first time you might as well not do it at all"!
