Combining 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Ackerman's premier nine-acre hillside vineyard in the cooler Coombsville area with 60% Sangiovese fruit from one of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley, this exclusive blend is separately aged for 10 months in new French oak before being blended together in the puncheon for approximately eight additional months. Smooth, full-bodied and complex flavors of berry, plum and spice make this a truly exceptional lot.

Atalon Winery exists to explore the different and often dramatic contours of Napa Valley. Our 2007 The Peers was created by an invisible sky bridge over the Napa Valley floor to connect two renowned mountain vineyard sites, Pritchard Hill and Mt. Veeder. Formed by intense volcanic activity over five million years ago, both vineyards stand like sentinels, watching over their respective east/west aeries. The Peers features vivid aromas and flavors of mineral (graphite, chalk), sweet tarragon, cranberry, cassis and dark chocolate, which flow generously from the glass. A textural marvel, the wine is lush and densely structured, exhibiting a shape that starts out with a slow ascent, zigzags down to envelop the palate and then rises like a rocket into a long finish.

We've blown the head off this barrel! This single-vineyard, single-clone 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our Beaulieu Vineyard Ranch No. 2 on the famed Rutherford Bench. The grapes are from the Clone 6 vines, which produce very dark fruit, firm tannins and a strong, rich, concentrated and expressive flavor profile. Whole berries for this wine were gently placed into a new OxoLine 55-gallon oak barrel. This barrel was rotated 360 degrees up to six times a day to produce the ultimate integration of oak, softer tannins, stabilized color and rounder, richer flavors. The skins were kept in contact with the wine for 59 days. This was the barrel that was the reason why we built the new reserve winery dedicated to the production of Georges DeLatour Private Reserve Cabernet. We've found flavors of blackberry, black cherries, dark chocolate, espresso bean and always the famous Rutherford Dust. We trust you'll find the same. BV wow!

My late grandfather influenced my on wine at age 5. I want the same for my grandson Ethan, who had two open-heart surgeries in 2007 at 10 months old. Ethan wine is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Oak Knoll District and was fermented the same month that Ethan was born. Like him, the wine has spirit, and is alive and doing well. This wine is on 100% new hybrid French and American oak.
